Sydney 13 months
Palm Springs Getaway!
Darren and I were fortunate enough to spend an entire weekend relaxing and having fun in Palm Springs this past weekend! Thanks to our lovely parents we were able to leave Sydney at home and enjoy an extended weekend. Our friends Alisha and Greg got married at the posh Parker hotel on Saturday night. Besides the really beautiful and fun wedding, we also spent time at the pool, Darren golfed and I got a nice maicure. We were able to spend some alone time as well as lots of time with some of our closest friends. Although we missed Sydney a lot it was such a nice break to get away and not have to be responsible for a 13 month old.

Busy Few Months!
Ok I have really lagged at keeping up on this blog! With regular email, Facebook and uploading pictures to Kodak Gallery this just seems like another cyber update I need to do. Maybe my New Years resolution should be to do an update at least once a month...but then again I never make New Years resolutions.
Since my last update we've been so busy! Sydney is now 9 months and weighed in at 17 lbs 14 oz and was 28.5 inches at her 9 month check up. She is still a little peanut! It seems like she has been trying to crawl for months now, but she can't seem to grasp going forward. She can move around putting well though and can especially move backwards. I think she might skip crawling altogether and just go straight to walking. All she wants to do is stand up and try to pull her self up. She is such a happy girl! From the moment I go in and get her from her crib in the morning she is smiling and laughing. It is such a go and blessing to get to spend everyday with her! What a gift from God!
Thanksgiving and Christmas with Sydney definitely made them have special meaning this year! She loved the mashed potatoes, my butternut squash casserole and my moms pear salad at Thanksgiving. And Christmas...wow! We had several events and parties so it was definitely a busy month! We started off with the kids party hosted by the Grahams and Sydney opened her first gift, some books. We song happy birthday to Jesus and strolled through the Christmas Lights on Birch Street in Brea with all the kids in tow. I think there were about 15 kids all parading and have a great time and the parents enjoyed some yummy spiked hot cocoa. Darren and I went to our annual couples party and gift exchange at the Shirley's and had a ton of fun. We also went to the Rockenbach's annual ornament exchange and my families annual Ornament Hanging that Pam and Brent hosts every year. Lastly we went to the Summit House for a great dinner with my family and Brent's family and the kids were really well behaved. It was a great night of yummy food and we capped it off by seeing Santa at the Brea Mall. I thought for sure Sydney would be screaming bloody murder, but she did surprisingly well. We spent Christmas Eve at Darren's moms, Christmas morning/breakfast at Darren's dads and then everyone met up at my mom and dads for afternoon fun and dinner. We were also lucky enough to have my Nana in town for 10 days! So as you can see its been a busy couple of months. I hope everyone had a great holiday season and I know 2010 is going to be great!!!
